1950
Began developing large tracts in the Valley
Construction grew to include apartment and industrial complexes— often developing multiple tracts at the same time, at a range of price points.
By 1953 he and his associates had developed more than 1000 acres in Sepulveda Pass.
1965
The first-ever high-rise residential building
in the city of Los Angeles
The Doheny Plaza was known as the Los Angeles area’s first “air-space subdivision” or in other words, a high-rise luxury apartment building.
It was created for people that were tired of the upkeep of a large house and were looking to relocate to a more central location.
1970s
The multi-family affordable housing division
In the seventies, we launched our multi-family affordable housing division throughout California.
We still own and operate several thousand of the units today.
1989 - 1995
Bel Air Crest
In partnership with Goldrich & Kest, the Bel Air Crest development project started with 516 acres of land in West Los Angeles, spanning from Sunset Boulevard to Mulholland Drive.
Over 300 of these acres were dedicated as open green space. And the remaining acres were used to build homes.
2000s to present day
Our multi-family portfolio grows
When we have the opportunity to design ground-up projects, we think not only about the experience of our tenants but the experience of our neighbors.
While we’ve expanded our reach to retail and mixed-use projects, we design in a way that enhances the environment and adds beauty and value to the local community.
